The second pic doesn't look like pan subbs, are they dried? No rings apparent. Look like what I posted for ID though under "Needing an ID" by NewAK.

i can not confirm lepiota without a writeup. the second collection certainly suggest panaeolus, though it cold possibly be a panaeolina [doubt it due to the verry dark spore deposite on the gills]. they do not appear to be subbalteatus but that doesn't mean they're not. they might be of any number of Pans unless you have fully confirmed your id.
nice pics, be safe, happy hunting.

god point Mitchnast: it is always imperative to be sure you do not end up with mixed collections.

The first one looks like a Lepiota to me.
We need to see the underside of it, so we can see the ring. Also, please cut it in half vertically so we can see the bruising reaction. We need to know how big it is (I can't tell from the photo), and it would be helpful to know which state you're in.
Happy mushrooming!

Unless you get to Pan subbs within a day or 2 of them growing, all color fades from the caps and they look like that.

yes the color rapidly fades with the days humidity. basucally as it ages past growth, the surface becomes smooth and dull white. usually by this point they are big city

chasingstardna: it would seem you haven't read either the stickies or the FAQ. this is expected of new users and will answer most of your early questions.

Sorry about that. I actually did search spore prints numerous times, different ways at the top of the page (Main, Entrance, Search) but I did not get any instructions on how to do so - just reports on other peoples'. I'm reading it now though, so thank you.
