GH op underway

Looking to start my GH in my basement storage area, wanted to get some of your guys input. here are some pictures.

do you guys think ill need painter tarp/plastic to cover the surrounding area since it's wood. my main priority is to not get any humidity damage or molds on the wood since I share the building w/ my brother. and most likely I will need to keep some of the GH zippers unzipped as I will be growing oysters that'll need lots of FAE, may even have to keep the storage door open as well to get some of the cool air. I will also be growing shittakes I take it that they will not need as much FAE as oysters? would it be ideal to grow them together or no?
otherwise, it should be a easy setup I can clamp on the lights to the shelving and have ultrasonic piped in to reach the top of GH w/ mister.
on a second note what would you guys recommend for my humidity and FAE? a homemade bucket or would purchasing a store bought ultrasonic & mister be ideal? could a homemade bucket be able to give both my humidity & FAE for the GH? also I was thinking about getting a plastic bin underneath the GH w/ perlite to help humidity & catch excessive water that'll drip.

i doubt one humidifier on a timer will be a problem for the surrounding wood shelves, I wouldnt worry about covering them especially if you keep the door open - more fae will keep the shelves dry.
A store bought ultrasonic will work for a little tent like that. The bucket humidifiers are nice because you dont have to fill them up as often and you can get a lot more mist coming off them depending on how they're built.

the basement is quite a distance from our floors. once operational I will make sure to clean GH periodically, give it a good wash down.

do you think a homemade would outlast a store bought humidifier?

hard to say, because the foggers are quite inconsistant. sometimes they'll last a long long time and others not so much..

Nice work dude!
About to get mine up and running again now that winter has sucked every last drop of moisture out of the air here as well...

Good job dude, but I think you need extra protection from moisture in the room. Looking from your video where goes exhaust air. And of course you need some fresh air into the room from outside, or you need additional intake pipeline for fresh air.

ok, i have meter where the humidity air exhaust and highest its gotten was 50 and usually ill feel the wood around there and its really dry & nothing of concern. i can possibly leave door open, as for before it got colder and humidity was up i was able to keep bags in greenhouse with front completely unzipped and i got good results. we shall see last thing i want is mold or damage as my brother would have a fit :/

what do you guys think. will i need to mist my mushies twice a day w/ a spray bottle? even though my ultrasonic puts out good amounts of humidity 6 times a day?

No, you don't need additional spraying when using humidifier. I have something similar at home like you, and I keep in humidity 80-90% and see my results are great.

Mine is that same greenhouse, I've got a humidifier on the bottom with the intake taped to a hole cut in the back of the GH, so it sucks in fresh air. Then a vicks 400 in the front for humidity, and a little square hole in the top to let more air in. When growing oysters I just leave the front unzipped and mist them a lot, they do pretty well. If you have like 0% RH as I do, I would definitely recommend misting often, sometimes a humidifier isn't enough when you've got all that airflow. Oysters don't mind being blasted with water anyway so you're not going to hurt anything.

with the cold weather do you bother using a way to heat the fruiting area? my temps get to 60 and i believe pinks and yellows need to be in 70 degree temps to do well ive been getting some caps that look mushy like a vagina lol. i think everything else is fine bc i was doing good with the warmer temps. im considering buying a oil radiator to haet the basement to 70 it would have to have temp gauge to regulate as i wouldnt want it to get to high

Maybe you close off that little area and heat it. But a heater in a basement will probably just waste electricity.

Nah, wrong idea! If you've got temps at 60f in your growing area, consider yourself lucky and grow species that do well at those temps. King oysters, black poplar, blue oysters, pearl oysters, nameko, enoki (?), there are many. I am currently TRYING to get my greenhouse cold enough to grow them all, since I can only grow in my house which is room temp 66f at the coldest (or my wife complains, and I can't feel my feet). Trying to heat up your space to grow pinks and yellows is an uphill battle that's pointless. Just grow them in the summer
