weird idea, cultivating mycelium in the fridge. I suppose this is done because it favors the mushroom more than any other competitors but damn its gonna be slow! If you want mushrooms faster follow more traditional techniques.
improvements: -This dude shoulda chopped the straw to improve colonizing and fruiting. also the straw is not sterilized, hardly pasteurized. I would process it with heat instead of h2o2. Like RR does on his lets grow mushrooms dvd -poke holes in the bag right after stuffing it with straw and mycelium, mushrooms breathe air and need holes for gas exchange during colonization.

I would say don’t put it in the fridge maybe even make an incubator NOTE:(an stc-1000 cost about 20 bucks and can be used to make a good thermostatic switch for an incubator). Um also I might use straw instead of those wood chips because its cheaper for the most part I also like doping my bulk substrates with a little molasses but it makes it easier for bacteria to grow so should be done in combination with an h2o2 method. But yeah for shits and giggles this would work but that keep it in the fridge thing totally seams a little fishy to me because there are a tone of molds that grow pretty fast compared to oyster mushrooms in the fridge.

Shit I forgot hella shit in this vid I saw it hella days ago and didn’t watch it all the way threw this time then started reading the comments and noticed I had lost the plot. um there are better spawning agents than pet wood chips, for instance “straw” I mean fuck it make yourself a karo LC culture pop it in a warm place and boom poor it on your straw. I do stand behind the h2o2 methods but he also totally could have pasteurized the substrate way better.

My best recommendation: Forget about that video and start reading this forum.
- Finely chopped straw pasteurized with a cold water lime bath for 12 hours;
- Spawning with leftover oyster pieces is OK, but chop them into many small pieces and scatter throughout the straw;
- Pack tightly in plastic bag(s);
- Punch 4-8 holes in each bag;
- Keep the bags in a humid environment but allow for fresh air exchange;
- Mist with a hand sprayer 4-8 times per day;
- Harvest in 2-4 weeks!
