Since there is a hot pepper trade going on I was just wondering how many here are screwing with them? Any interesting crosses any one has come up with? I have trinidad scorpions and some numex big jims im trying right now.

I have eaten several. Its a fucking raw deal man. Chug a gallon of milk after and its still felling like I ate coals from the heater. I have been putting them into sauces a lil at a time. Cooking them helps then they have a really good flavor. My crosses so far are with the goal of bringing down the heat a lil so the flavor is there besides the pain. Well thats the supposed goal but I seem to be trying more for a 6 inch long (big jims run around 5 to 6 inches) scream inducing pepper. Its amazing how it started out noble and went evil.

Broiling them then peeling is by far my favorite way to process chiles keeping some raw for sauces and seasoning of course, but the taste of roasted chiles goes great with everything IMO

I tried to grow habaneros where i live but they didn't seem to take off
I have a little chilli plant going at the moment, not entirely sure of the variety, I'd say they are around the heat of a bird' eye or peri peri chilli but not the same shape.
Very tasty, we use them in just about everything we can, especially birria when we get around to making it. Love that gear.

I haven't had a garden going lately due to too much time spent out of state, but I have a serious addiction to chilies that don' mess around. I'd like to be able to make a committment to growing them again after this winter.
I am working on some homebrew controls for irrigation and such though.
Anybody interested in a chili-cam with which you can have a small control over the environmentals as a social experiment?

I have a couple ghost peppers, two trinidad scorpions, two Hawaiian x ghost peppers, a Hawaiian pepper, and a couple others. I just got into gardening, and was hit with plagues of pests, so they're not doing as well as they were earlier in the year . They're recovering now, though! There's also a chili pepper thread in the Ethnobotanical Garden growlog section, with lots of info and pictures
