is the cyan season over?

So the last few times i've been out looking for p cyanescens, the vast majority of individuals i found have been rotting. They either have black/blue caps which just fall apart on contact, or they have little white bugs eating them all over. But just today i noticed some healthy looking pins in one of my usual spots. Im a bit confused because from what ive read the season is supposed to last through december (in pnw, specifically BC). Do i just need to find some new spots? I dont know what I'm doing wrong

Not over, ive seen them survive snow and keep growing long afterwards, sometimes into february. A light frost will probably cause the patches to start to rot but doesnt mean end of the season. They will be back.

Ok thanks, i did see a little frost so that would explain everything. I'm near Vancouver for those wondering. I admit it was rather disheartening to see huge mushrooms literally fall apart in my hands, but ill wait for the next flush!

Some of the found patches are on their second while some, their third. My backyard patches produced a couple the last week so those ones might be done. You just gotta have different patches all over that way you'll have a better chance at seeing them at all stages of growth. You might have competition picking that area as well.
Putting as much effort into starting patches as hunting them will increase your chances greatly and I highly recommend finding ways to spread them.
