Identification - second opinions please!
    #19136412 - 11/14/13 02:37 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

These were found growing in a cluster on mossy tree decay on the edge of some woodlands. The last few days had been quite wet and cold for these little and large delicacies and they're quite dirty.

I have done some research and have come to the uncertain conclusion that these could be some young psilocybe cubensis.

Second opinions will hopefully intensify the reality of this weekend!

They appear to me as an Armillaria species. Definitely not Psilocybe cubensis or any
other Psilocybe sp. for that matter.

Where approximately are you situated?

Two useful links:

Sample ID request.

What active species grow wild in my area?

Welcome to the Shroomery!

where are you located??

they look like a Pholiota species.

Psilocybe cubensis does not grow on wood.

I think both Tricholomopsis and Pholiota are good suggestions as well.

However I've rarely seen any of those with such long slender stems.

I'm thinking Pholiota as well.
