All because a bunch of dudes couldn't get it up. And people thought it cured cancer.
How are people so enthralled with Death (see: violent culture, gore movies, etc), yet when their time comes, they grasp at straws and lose all dignity?

What about the organisms taking its place? Do you want them to exist, or not?

I remember back in the 90s all the environmentalists were raving about endangered species. For the last 10 years all I've heard from them is carbon this and carbon that. I guess they went where the money was?

I know that they tried sequestering rhinos, but poachers would cross the fences and kill them anyway. I think, unfortunately, in comparison to one species, the threat of all life as we know it being under threat is more pertinent.
I am killing it with the $2 words today.

This is the result of our culture in general. Let's not get nit picky about specifics. We promote the extinction of animals daily with our materialistic lifestyles. This means you and me.

Why not get picky about specifics? Specifics are what is most important.
At first thought, I think that at least I have a opulent and luxurious lifestyle gained by extinctions you describe. The black rhino horn does not have medicinal value. Its extinction did not promote a opulent or luxurious lifestyle. It merely satisfied a stupid and baseless religious style belief.

But less proven. We know for a fact animals go extinct due to human activities. All the carbon credits in the world won't change that. I liked environmentalists better when what they stood for was cut a dry and the donations didn't end up in the hands of a government agency.

My what a big ass ego trip you are on. As if your considerations of what's important are the right ones.

If you were one of the ladies the black rhino horn helped to a more fulfilled initimate life I bet you'd giggle instead.
You've got to realize that viagra isn't in places they don't have pharmacies and even if they had them it might cost too much for a doctor's appointment so the women have to send the men out to get their meds by poaching. Its really a health care crisis more than anything to do with endangered species. I blame the women that told the men they weren't being properly pleased.

Much of medicine is placebo.

Bullshit. You are just making things up. The placebo effect does not cure or treat anything, it only affects how the person feels. You may feel better from a placebo, but the cancer, infection, broken bone, etc. lingers on.
