sounds good and worth a try. but I think the crossing is done when immature, or embryonic. in the monocaryotic phase, before they mate. the mating of individual spores creates dikayiotic but interesting non the less...good luck bro...

Snake venom isn't really needed for crossing strains of the same species. As anno said, they'll do that on their own. I've used it to cross non-viable spores with monokaryotic mycelium in order to get the DNA from the old spores, but that's not a process I'd recommend unless one is really experienced with lab work. Snake venom also holds promise for crossing different species. More work on that is ongoing. RR
If you want to cross two strains(I'm using 'strain' in the sense it's usually used here, that is naming a print and calling it a strain), simply print one cap right on top of the print left by another cap. By then using the resultant print, it would be nearly impossible to not get several crosses. You'd want to do it on agar and isolate the strains as they differentiate, carefully labeling each one. when you fruit them, you'll be able to tell which is a cross or not, provided you used two distinctly different parents. lol, hell ya. good stuff. that cross your doing would be awesome...a cube is a cube they say...but I think there is room for improved varieties....tear it up man. I love this kind of stuff...

Sooooo cronicr, were you gonna clone your promising fruits, then self there prints back to the originals or were you just gonna keep it around as a unique clone? I also am hoping for germination soon on my AA+/CRS and my APE/CRS. Thinking about doing some APE/AA+ to get a rare large white dick

gonna go for a clone from the promising fruits but also take prints and i'm gonna use the prints first to see where i'm at, but honestly i did have to put i aside for now i got waaaay to many things on agar right now and not enough dishes to work with it all lol! i always do this stuff but can never help myself

Yeah I know the feeling; fridge full of cultures, no idea where to start, start new cultures, take new clones, dig hole deeper

LOL... ya I hear ya. for every culture I say 3 clean pdas. don't clone so many...work on a few at a time. I used to do too many at once 2....the real meaning for agar is cleanup crew...or clean cultures. or iso,s. so figure for each petri/3 dishes for transferring away from contaminates...damn that's a lot of dishes!... ... lol:)

hi all, just a quick update on these.i posted a few pics, in my mush gallery, if you care to take a look. different for sure. no mutants though...the first flushes were weak/ok. one large fruit and a few smaller. second flushes are better. little denseass Mario looking fruits. these are just test grow subs . half pint of grain, half pint sterilized coir, verm, gypsum... so 1 pint little bulk subs...I see the 3rd flush pins coming in thick... I like these small, fat, little suckers. they do pack a punch too! . cute, little, bonsai shrooms.... good growing to all...
