Bloody Frost Damage
    #19133119 - 11/13/13 08:11 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Yeah... so when they put out frost warnings they actually mean it. Who knew?

Anyway. A couple of my pepper plants leaves froze and now are limp. They will die, but I don't particularly care.
I do need advice for my other plants. I had a kanna plant out. The stems have are still hard but some of the leaves are darkened a little and appear flaccid. What can I do for it?

I had a periskopsis stock, but it looks ok,

I had a couple of dwarf coffee plants. The leaves drooped a little but are not mushy or soft in the way the pepper plants were.

I have a hemia salicifolia that is undergoing rough times. First it was spider mites (same ones that killed my salvia and kratom. Bastards!!) So I dosed it with neem oil. Now a curious thing happened. The spider mites seemed to stop advancing. But then they moved only onto certain "branches" of the plant. I can no longer tell if they are there because the leaves have stopped turning yellow and dying, but now the tips have turned dark green/black and are consuming the leaves. The "blackness" does not appear dry but rather like frost damage (which is a possibility).

One "branch" has no blackness on it, and not aparent spider mite damage. I am considering cutting that part off, rooting it, and razing the rest of the plant. How feasible is that? I have tried to root other plants, but the cuttings end up withering and dying before I see any roots at all...

In particular I have decided to move them indoors (except the hemia, that one I covered in a rug and left it quarantined outdoors.) Can I do that at once or should I do it slowly or what?

So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!
