My heart aches for my drug of choice..
    #19132478 - 11/13/13 06:14 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

It's been a good month or two since my last relapse. Even longer since i've used daily. Even
though i am passed withdrawal today, i have such strong cravings. Cravings that shake me
to my core, and literally cause me physical pain.

What can i do, but let it pass?

Stay busy.
Get in a healthy routine.
Go to NA meetings.
Go to church.
Cook.
Write down your feelings in a journal, that way you can track the progression of your cravings.
Get a job if you don't have one.
Save up your money for something specific in mind, like school, or presents for family/friends.
Set attainable life goals for yourself, and/or chase a dream you've always had.
Go for runs/work out.
Play an instrument!
Your heart doesn't ache for the drug you used to use, you just think it does.  Your heart is aching for love.  You might think love exists in that drug, but you're wrong.  Love exists between you and other people.

I cycled for an hour away from home, had a brew break for an hour and cycled back. Afterwards I pretty much fell asleep. I don't normally cycle anywhere so it kind of worked for me.
