First of all, you must have an aquarium (a tank) with a good filter system and it should be at least 40 liters.
i have a 100 l aquarium and i am pretty satisfied, and i have to change a20 liters any 2 months, but i must say that it is a quite expensive hobby
So if you want to you can get some technical advices on specialized forums (i do not think this one is the rigth one XD )
The steps to have a proper acquarium are a lot and it would took me like an hour to explain to you, so... go read something if you are really intrested

Ah,if you were planning to buy a goldfish in a bowl, it won't last long, it would smell and eventually you will get bored to se that fish staing on the floor doing nothing....

It's a bitch, you gotta walk them every day, make sure they have water in their bowl, pick up the shit in the yard.

Fishes are demanding creatures man

I do, plants don't require much work, neither do fish, unless you get really fancy.

These really are questions better suited for Google.

I hard they have glow in the dark fish you can buy at Walmart and just about every pet store. That would be pretty cool to have.

a beta fish just needs to get swapped into a bowl of water while you rinse out it's habitat

then you put some chemical in there and dump it back in

they last a long time to

you can get a much bigger bowl and a plant and maintaining it becomes 1000x easier

i don't even think I did anything after that and it lived another year

Fish tanks are kinda my thang. I worked in the aquarium industry for about 13-14 years, and planted tanks happen to be what I enjoy the most.

If you want to do a planted tank there are several routes you can go, which are really dependent on how much money you want to spend, how much time you're willing to spend on the tank, and if you'd be willing to do some learning.

Here was my balls to the wall "high tech" planted tank:

seadagon fish are pretty easy to maintain you do not need some huge tank a 5 or 10 gallon will do once you get it set up right all you have to do is pretty much feed them, change the filter occasionally and add water as needed.

Gumby is right but this quote is the most important. Go for it you can get as fancy or as simple as you want.

Yes and no, you're gonna have to do water changes once a month at the very least for a healthy tank. Nitrates and dissolved organics nigga, they build up.
