 New way to store mushrooms

I am very new here, but read all the Faq's about storing mushrooms, and came away dissatisfied. Some of the methods were pretty bad for the enviroment (eg, using freon as a storage agent.)
Another option for storage of shrooms would be Helium or Argon or Neon. Helium and argon are readily available from welding supply houses, and helium in particular u can get a tank of from a party store. Helium is a very small atom, so you will need to store the shrooms in a jar or bottle (glass or thick plastic - like a nalgene bottle)to prevent the helium from escaping. rest the mushrooms on a screen in the container so that you can turn it upside down. helium is lighter than air, so take a small rubber hose and put it just a little bit inside the container. When you turn on the valve the helium will travel into the container and push out the air. The resulting anoxic enviroment will be perfect for storing mushrooms. If you wanted them to last for a very long time, add a dissecant on a seperate screen. This will remove any remaining H2O in the shrooms and hold on to it.

how long do you need to store them for? They hold up dried for quite a few months...
Also drying and then vacuum sealing them is one method that can be applied to extend storage

Maybe I am missing something, but how about this:
1.Put shrooms in a jar.
2. Place dry sponge on top of shrooms (the sponge is lightweight and
won't damage the shrooms).
3. Light with a lighter a small piece of paper.
4. Drop lit paper on top of the sponge (the sponge keeps the heat
away from the shrooms).
5. Place lid onto jar as the paper is burning.
6. The paper will go out when all the oxygen is consumed from within
the jar. It will also vacuum seal the jar.
7. Voila! No oxygen! Store in fridge.
What say you all?
