Ready to fruit?

This tub is showing what appears to be very rhizomorphic growth. you can see strands of mycelium growing straight up and out of the substrate. The only problem is that the tub still looks to have visibly un colonized substrate. My tubs have always been covered in a white snowy looking mycelium blanket before I have fruited them. Has anyone seen the mycelium grow in rhizomorphic strands straight up into the air before covering the substrate?
Thanks,
Willy

I don't see what you're talking about.

When you open that tub up you'll see all the sub is white and fuzzy.
It literally is begging to be fruited.

The tub is Psilocybin cubensis, African Transkei. It is one of my favorite types of cubes I have worked with. I have started the fruiting cycle. Here is a picture of the tub as of 11-10-13:

I don't know. I was kind of wondering about the white spots. The overall yellow is the manure substrate. It is what I am talking about in the original post of this thread. Normally my tubs are all white like in the spots that are all white in this current tub. The tub seems to only have a real thin over lay of mycelium over most of the manure substrate. I think it is either the mycelium starting to thicken up or it's a contamination. Only time will tell. My fingers are crossed and I am hoping that it is just myc starting to grow vigorously. Maybe I will get lucky and a TC will drop in on this thread and say what they think it might be.

The white, aerial mycelium we saw first looks to have been sprayed. Have you been misting? This is what my tubs with aerial mycelium look like after I spray them and the strands of mycelium that were standing up all end up laying on their sides. The white spots are either just the last spots of myc filling in, or some pre-sporulation mold. If you can get a better up close picture of the white spots with good focus and lighting, we should be able to determine that for you.

I don't think that's how it works... mycelium should grow white no matter the substrate and discoloration can likely be attributed to some contamination. The exception to this is the color yellow, the color of metabolite excretion, and blue for bruising.
I'm hoping the best for you but honestly don't know what to expect from this tub, only time will tell.
Hopefully it will work itself out, good luck!

IME sometimes the mycelium will only weakly colonize the sub, allowing the color of the sub to show through. This is not a problem, as long as the mycelium has colonized it, its fine. This is not an indication of the ability to fruit, some of my best fruiting clones are like this. Expect to see the colonization thicken up as it flushes. If your culture is ms this is to be expected to some degree.
IMO OP I would be more concerned with those super white patches. Its hard for me to see on my phone, but they look a little sandy/dusty which is usually the first sign of trich. Keep an eye on them. Regardless fruit that tub now as the rest is ready.
Good luck

i dont think the white patches are trich, they seem to have knots on them. trich wouldn't start knotting cubes?
manure tend to make a quite bright white sub. brighter than coir ime.
how's it looking OP?

A picture of the tub's first flush.
This is the only picture I have of the tub from the first flush. I had to move my entire operation because stuff got comprimised. The 1st flush yeilded 37g dry.

I did not mist it at all. I set the tub and did not do a thing to it until it started pinning. Then all I did was pull the tape, stuff the polly and fan it out one time. Then I left it be until harvest time.

That is what I thought it might be. Just a slow weak colonizer. The white patches are getting more prominent. It's hard for me to tell if it's trich or not. It looks like trich to me but none of it has sporulate yet.

Here it is tonight three days after harvesting the first flush.
