Home Grown or Wild ??? Which do you prefer
    #19130119 - 11/13/13 06:04 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Wild One's For Me
I have a friend who likes to grow cubes, he's a lot better at it then me. So I like to pick liberty caps, I find the lib's are a much stronger buzz but less visual then the cubs even at a higher dose.

I love the whole idea of picking them, a day out with great rewards.

im sorry for rambling i need to write 14 posts to read a post ive seen

I love mushroom hunting but dislike the idea of accidentally ingesting a maggot. So yeah, I like grown.

i no longer touch much of anything,
unless im able to tour the facility and inspect the grow personally.

to many hacks to really trust stuff otherwise.

we do not eat wild stuff.
but we have captured wild stuff, and cultivated it.

outdoors, its a contest of identification.
indoors, its a contest of clean ops.

No comparison to me...I have grown cubes and located / harvested some wild ovoids. I choose the wild ovoids hands down. First off...I only have to eat half as much, the come-up is less stressful and the overall trip more enjoyable. I pick them in early spring, so there, at that time, are no deadly look-alikes.

Maybe there is some placebo/ expectations effect going on...I kind of look at it like which would I prefer....wild salmon or farm raised? I will tell you this....I have not eaten a cube since I started finding these beautiful little blue stained gems.:mushroom2:

Most home grown are cubes, but the wild ones can be more potent, I prefer the hunt bit it's not always guaranteed.

they go fast,
i expect in about a year exotic spores will become more common,
and the teks to go with them.

peeps are slowly learning, a small pan of exotics,
done right, on power subs,
way beats a cube bucket , with less effort and hassle.

for at least the last 5 yrs , the misinformed,
have ONLY presented the idea of,
" ya want more? then stack those turds higher and faster!"

the informed now know, you can grow exotics,
and get better value/ effort with  none of the BS.

once again future doesnt belong to cube bucketeers and barns,
it belongs to dense high power exotic grows, on custom subs, in lab type settings.

as peeps evolve, it becomes about efficiency.

There are many on the H & I forum that reseed mulch beds with the spore wash from cleaning or just the stem butts that they have picked and have (in a couple years) their own outdoor patch of wild mushies.

Sorta like Johnny mushy seed:mushroom2: This has been done for sure in the East with wild ovoids and in the PNW with psilo cyans. Very cool indeed.

What exactly do you mean by "exotic" spores?

Home grown all the way.  There's a better chance of getting the right mushrooms when you go home grown.

Wild! I had a small patch of Caerulescens/Caerulipes (yes, both species growing together in the same patch) and the trip from these species combined was much more powerful than anything I got from a grow.  It lasted longer; it was stimulating; I was able to get much more powerful mental effects without ego death than any other mushroom trip I have had.
