hey guys, i hope this isn't too noobie but, and I've researched myself into complete confusion. i got my first PE flush from a mail order grow kit. I saw a youtube vid about cloning with cardboard. On a lark, i tried it and to my surprise, it took very well! want to try a grow but, not sure how to proceed. my plan is a mono tub but, im afraid i might be getting in over my head. I'm going to put it in the fridge to slow it down while i get everything together but, what? I've got a tub, substrate material ( coco/coffee), light source and fans. my confusion is around colonizing the substrate and casing. I've got several teks book marked but, I'm torn between going back a step and trying to colonize a few jars first or, using the cardboard to colonize a tub. i hope that makes sense.

You will have to case PE when you fruit it. Use jars to colonize. Check out FrankHorrigan's journal and Stromrider's start to finish bulk tek for some good up2date teks.

Read the journal entries and stop watching YouTube. Forget about cardboard.

Take the spores you have, most likely contaminated due to open air microbial bacteria, and swipe onto some agar.
You can read about agar by using the forums search feature. Most all of the supplies can be bought at the grociery store (asian market is best, asian aisle), health food store, and if you're going the malt extract if you have a brewery store nearby thats A+, if not youre best bet is through bulk apothecary online.
There are some really, really helpfull people here (NotAHacker) that are TOP-NOTCH at answering your questions, I am a noob myself, but this should get you by.
Do your research. Read more, when you think you've got it, look into alternative methods, and read more about that.
Theres a few tried and tested methods to use without a PC, but I wouldent trust them personally.
The pressure cooker is a big ordeal, dont spend 40 on a new one that holds 1-3 quarts, spend 80 on one that holds 10, or 400 for a lifetime friend through All-American PC.
This is my recommendation for a Pressure Cooker
This is my recommendation for Petrei Dishes : HERE
My Suggestion for your Light Malt Extract : Here

You do not HAVE to case PE....casing cubes is always optional.....
However casing PE with JiffyMix has proven to reduce blobs and increase normal looking dick on the first flush.

Because if you followed that video, your mycellium is most likely contaminated.
The guy in the video is what looks to be an amateur.....
