How many gamers recognize the genius that is battlefield 3?
    #19128074 - 11/12/13 06:51 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

I try to spread the good word, that there is a game that makes COD look like an arcade game from 2001, but they won't listen.

So I'm curious, what percentage of shroomerites prefers BF3 to COD?

You might want to mention how extensively you have played both. (I for instance played and loved COD for years until BF3 took my life by storm. But had already played BF 1942 and 2142 and loved them both as well.)

But come on now. The COD series has released about 10 virtually identical games in a row, yet people still buy every single title and love it to death. I feel bad for them really :nonono: Never experiencing innovation
Battlefield or COD
You may choose only one

i have bf3 but still don't have internet at my house and the single player is boring. so until i get multiplayer i can't really tell ya, but i loved the first battlefield on pc.

thank you for reminding me, this vote is based 100% on multiplayer game play. BEcause the campaigns for both series suck donkey dong.

BF2

Got to 10th prestige in MW & MW2

Then stopped playing video games, but BF2 was my favorite shooter by far.

well shit there are SO MANY fucking first person shooters now with just tiny variations on the same shit, it's basically impossible for the campaign to be refreshing, at all.

i'm not as familiar with BF2. Did it come out before or after 2142? I kinda dropped off of the series in the middle there

Just curious, have you tried 3 yet?

I bought the origin humble bundle for $5, got BF3 with it. Put in a good 60 hours. It's the most complex FPS I've ever played for sure. I love being able to switch classes and going from the run-and-gun assault to the choke-point holding support or the vehicular-master engineer.

My only complaint is, since the battles are so large, you as an individual have little effect on the end of the (long) match.

That is why I've spent more time on CS:GO - because in a 5v5 competitive match, quitters are banned, mics are encouraged, and good planning and personal skill can win the match.

Not that you can't plan on BF3 - if anything, you can plan more, putting c4 on the front of a jeep for example.
I just get a sort of time dilation playing BF3 for too long and it feels sort of like sensory overload.

BF2 sucked on console. Its was before 2142. I have played a little bit of Battlefield 3 and had a little fun, but back in HS BF2 was my jam.

dude, if you get a couple friends with mics all on the same server you can fucking wreak havoc. It really enhances the game!

glad you like it

STAL

Battlefield is a "better" game, but I enjoy how competetive and fast paced COD is.

just FYI: the game mode conquest domination in BF is basically COD mode. AKA: it has really small indoor maps with no vehicles. quite fun when you want it to be faster paced

Battlefield 3 was the final nail in the coffin for EA and the battlefield series for me.

BF 1. 1945 BF  2. V
BF2142 was my favorite of the series.
The 3 rd one was like a console port of 2 and not a good one .

The DlC was B.S.

I now play the Arma series while buggy as all Hell and at times it can be dull. Still a much better series with infinite potential. So much user content and mods

games like Project Diva F and Dark souls make me Feels.

Battlefield makes my head feel cramped and I get depressed playing war games for long periods of time.

It's strange... definitely has potential but i'm not a uber cool alpha gamer guy

Played it for several weeks after release - used to love the attack choppers, tanks and running dudes over in jeeps. It was definitely better than any of the COD clones IMHO, but I'm a very casual gamer, so doesn't mean too much.
