yes agar alone cant maintain myc... we use it because of its texture and solubility. here is a simple tek https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7081785#7081785

Your plan is one of the most solid I have seen posted in a while, it is obvious you have been reading the Teks here and evaluating for true viability.
I am exceptionally happy that you understand that since your first spore prints were taken from wild mushrooms, that you can Isolate away contaminants through agar transfers.
And following How Frank gets shit done will lead to nothing but success!
I look forward to the future posts in your grow log, I suspect nothing but success will come your way.
Cheers

if you got disposable petri dishes chances are they were pre sterilised. most people seem to prefer them to glass.

yes you need some filter materials for spawn jars like sfd's or tyvek or polly, also you can look into pp5's or half pint jars for the no pour agar method i find it much more forgiving for sab work

you do need some type of hole/holes and a filter. there are many different ways of doing this I make 4 small holes about 1/8 inch each one at every end of the lid then I cover the lid with two layers of Tyvek from a disposable paint suit and screw the ring over that.

the foil stops moisture from getting in during PC. Don't cover your holes. The Tyvek filter stops contams from getting in. The holes are necessary for gas exchange during colonisation.

Holy. You don't see many first time growers starting with wild prints and agar. Good luck to you bro.

Just do a whole batch of jars now. G2g the first two that finish colonizing and spawn the rest to whatever bulk substrate you're planning on using.
