Unexplainable (possibly) visual hallucination

One week ago, I ate 2.6g of cubensis. This was my 3rd time taking shrooms.
I weigh 180 pounds.
My friends and I eat our portions and about an hour has passed and we decide to go on an adventure to the park.
Let it be known that it was very misty and completely dark. The clouds were out, so the stars could not be seen and it was very blurry.
We are walking towards the park and (here is the unexplainable part) we are looking at about 4 houses, 10 beautiful autumn trees, and a school and we can also see the EXACT reflection of the 4 houses, 10 trees, and the school IN THE FUCKING SKY!
Basically whatever we see in front of us is reflecting in the sky, like we are looking at water.
I'm wondering if anyone has had this experience or know anyone who has? If so, can anyone explain it to me? Thanks.

Uh yeah I am no expert, but it might have been the hallucinogenic mushrooms that you ate . . . yep thats it!

Hahahahah well I know it was because I was "tripping," but how is it possible?? It was just so amazing
Scientifically, how was it possible? I guess that's what I really meant.

It's tripping, it defies science.
People can share hallicinations, it's happened to me a couple times.

Well, I wouldn't say it "defies" science, because it technically is science, but it certainly feels like it does. Very magical experiences.

Tripping doesn't defy science . It does, however, defy the models we currently use, begging us to study phenomena further. I believe the "reflection" phenomena may be due to some impression on your visual cortex, the part of your brain that receives info directly from your optical nerves. Now, if you remember in highschool science class (its okay if you don't ) there are a few things which can happen when you have a convex or concave lens, and where the focal point is in regards to whether the "image" seen is flipped 180 degrees. Its like looking at your reflection in the back of a spoon, then looking at it from the same distance in the face of the spoon. The image flips. Now, I think something similar is happening in your brain with a "flipped" image being sent to your visual cortex, but obviously the houses you see in front of you are not physically flipped. Does this help at all?

you are going to have a difficult time with psychedelics if this is going to be your attitude. it's called a hallucinogen for a reason.. you were hallucinating, it doesn't get anymore scientific than that. like i said though just because it was a hallucination doesn't make any less meaningful.

I think hallucinations are different person to person. But at the same time, some people have the same hallucinations as others. I've seen things that I couldn't explain to my friends, and I'm sure the same for them.
You ate mushrooms, don't expect boundaries on your hallucinations. Almost anything is possible.

I think you should study neurochemistry more.

That's sounds really intense. There are scientific explanations beyond "you were just tripping, man" though guys. Just as a "healthy" sober brain can take visual signals received from the eyes and translate them into a normal picture for you to see inside your head, a tripping brain can take those same exact signals and do some funky shit to them before creating a picture for you to see. How? Why? I have no idea, I wish I knew more about how the brain deals with information honestly.
Also, you have the right attitude in my opinion. Stay curious!

How? Why? Neurotransmitters. That's how and why.

of course there is science, how the psilocybin affects ur brain and what neurotransmitters and stuff. op wanted to know how that was possible, mushrooms man, that's how. if you want to know EXACTLY HOW, well u sure not going to find it here.

Don't let anyone tell you "you're crazy, they're just drugs you're just hallucinating." There is always an answer if you're willing to find it. Most people just can't keep up, that's all!
Edit: It's all illusion. Reality is one big shared hallucination.
