How do you figure?  170,000 veterans would lose food benefits if the GOP had their way.

I do not recall the GI Bill to include guaranteed food for life

Right, you do however get a really great contract if you fulfill your obligation. Full medical and dental at no cost, $80,000 for college with free college (meaning not out of the 80k)while your active duty, you retain all your benifits if you are medically discharged. And although  it depends on the Branch of Service, your rank, and location (Allowance forhousing is based on location) I made excellent pay in The Air Force in Northern California. Nothing to complain about, it's a great deal

You just linked to something that has nothing to do with a welfare state.  Which is what we're talking about.

How can you say that while clearly in this very quote thread you asked me to define the nanny state?

You asked me to define the term nanny state. A ridiculous request. Now I'm certain the conversation can move in a more interesting direction

Except you used the term incorrectly when talking about a welfare state.  Admit you were using the term incorrectly and we can move forward.

You asked me to define the term nanny state. Welfare state was never brought up, so that wasn't the topic . Again,  ridiculous questions,  and I'm sure the conversation can now move in a more intelligent direction

You used the term "nanny state" while talking about providing our veterans (and other citizens) with welfare benefits.  You then accused me of siding with Democrats and their "nanny-state agenda," which I, for the most part, haven't done.  It was clear you used the term "nanny state" incorrectly.  Let's just admit it and move on with the discussion.

I used no term incorrectly. Now let me take the oppurtunity to steer the conversation in a more intelligent direction, and more to the point of the original discussion. How is cutting aid to losers of all walks of life discriminatory to veterans who are not an oppressed class?

Cutting "aid" has nothing to do with a nanny state.  Period.

Once you admit that, we can move on with this discussion.

Actually I can seperate the two. It's you who can't. I suspect it because that's because that doesn't fit well in your wet dreams with Democrats and their nanny-state agenda

Once again, you used the nanny state term incorrectly, you even tried to post a Wikipedia article about it which clearly states you don't know what a nanny state is.  Admit it, and move on.

Oh, you can't spell separate correctly either.
