advice for mature use of LSD

Hey mates,
I've very familiar with taking mushrooms - what an amazing sacred medicine.
One of the many benefits I get from mushrooms is the guidance and insights they offer. It's as though they have a wisdom consciousness in them.
I would like to explore LSD, which I haven't done before.
I'd like some advice from explorer who have used LSD for personal insights.
Have planned an indoor ceremony.
1. Do you suggest during the day or in the evening?
2. In the light or in complete darkness?
3. Any other suggestions?
I usually do the mushroom ceremonies in complete darkness and indoors.

At night, theres less people to sketch you out if you eat a high dose (i only enjoy high doses). Darkness is definitely better for the visuals...definitely have mj because it makes the trip not only better but more handleable (at least in my case starting out). A benzo for the comedown is also recommended because towards the end of the trip your mind tends to keep running with all those thoughts on life while your body is ready for sleep.
Make sure your trip is completely planned out beforehand and there will be no possible chance of something causing any form of paranoia. You should also work out every possible trouble in your life beforehand as the trip will definitely amplify that to the extreme. However, if you're seeking help with that problem going into the trip meditate and good luck. Oh and if you're really looking to go deep...have some dmt prepared beforehand. Happy trails brother

brother, thanks a million for the advice. do you find the LSD has the spiritual or personal insight quality like mushrooms? is this something that needs to get "triggered" with LSD? any advice on this.
not looking to work out any problems, simply explore the Mystery more. Explore and learn and grow from the experience.

LSD for me has more of a "loving/playful theme" i guess you could call it lol but definitaly defffinitaly is spiritual no doubt. Mushroom seem almost 100% spiritual in my eyes...ive never had a bad time on L...only on mushrooms have i gotten my ass whooped and many times ahaha. I cant stand low doses though so im sure that plays a role

Id have to disagree and say day time 100%. Not only do you get to see the beauty of the world in full, but it also lessens the opportunity for bad trips in the dark. Make sure you don't have to talk to anybody not tripping though

You've had success with mushrooms so do the same thing but with LSD instead. With high doses mushrooms, LSD and mescaline all bring you to the same place. Smoke DMT on the comedown.

I am on LSD now so do you think I am misuing my mystical sacred trip to watch porn? The mystical shit fights its way in anyway whether you want it or not. If I did ceremonies and shit then my room-mates would really think i'm crazy. Trying to keep it normal looking that's my primary concern. I am trying to keep it less mystical and you want more? I don't need to see the clear light of god shining on my roommate in my kitchen when she's asking me a ride. Since you want to encourage this shit: I fail to see if you take it in day or night would be different for inducing mystical shit. Equally good, but I am telling you now just drop acid and play video games and shit don't go looking for fucking god. Go for the funny colors and shit there is no answers out here.

no your abusing
thats why there "were" certain restrictions in some older "wiser" cultures to ceremonies. Sometimes you can believe (wiser) people with experience in life that say: "Bro, less can be much more" like that shit and nothing can be something but everything you want can be nothing of value

1. Do you suggest during the day or in the evening? Personally I prefer the day. But mushrooms + the night sky have a special place in my heart. But in general I prefer a clear blue sky.
2. In the light or in complete darkness? Depends on what you're looking for, and who you're with. Complete darkness can lead to a lot of different things, and if you experienced with psychedelics then go for darkness.
3. Any other suggestions? I would take it during the day with someone else so you know what to expect for future trips. And maybe just take one, so you know the general feel of a baseline trip. But then again with LSD it's hard to determine how much is on each hit.
I hope you have an insightful first trip on elesdeeee.

Guys, thanks a million for the advices
I am planning to do it in-doors, at home. Set and setting. I have my buddhist tankas and clean meditation room.
If done indoors, would you still suggest daytime?
When I do mushrooms at night, definitely it brings out a spiritual initiation quality. And some require great courage ;-)

Wow that sounds pretty amazing, Pierre. If done indoors, it probably wouldn't matter too much if it's daytime or nighttime... But it matters for me a bit. The time of day usually always plays SOME role in my trips.
Think you could post some pictures of your meditation room? I'm definitely interested.

Guys, I found this on an very old thread about Mushrooms vs, LSD, Do you guys agree or disagree with this?
"Psilocybin feels like a great intelligence dawns, but LSD feels simply like triggers are being messed with and firing off in my brain. Psilocybin brings revelation and awe, but LSD gives but a different perspective. Psilocybin feels like it brings the soul into an intimate and large connection with the surrounding environment, but LSD seems to detach the soul from almost everything, even the body becomes detached. Psilocybin builds, consummates, and brings new equilibrium with every experience, but LSD seems to build frantically, doesn't wrap up the psychedelic experience with the sense of newness of being reborn, and hangs around too long without tying ends. Psilocybin brings life into grand view, while LSD plays tricks like it's all fun and games. I think the differences could be detailed in book fashion."

1. I like night better. I feel like there's a certain freedom at night.
2. Light, dark, or dim room. It makes no difference. Whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
3. At about 3 hours in, put on the album No Doy by the band moe, then sit back and sink into your soul.

At night is much better in my opinion. The stars always blow me away and how the moon plays with the clouds is very surreal. There seem to be a lot more colors in the sky at night especially if there are clouds, you will see colors you have never noticed before, or at least that is my experience. LSD is fairly easy to relax especially if you are doing a small amount like one hit. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this but when walking down the street at night you will see a lot of stuff in your peripherals and it is like people are there but then you look and realize your eyes are playing tricks on you. It isn't scary it is just surreal. I feel like a little kid when I have done it in the past. Like all the barriers that make me an adult are completely shattered. You return to innocence for a while. If you go on a walk at night you might be apprehensive at first but if you continue through that apprehension there is a extreme sense of freedom. It is the craziest thing or riding a bike is extremely exhilarating.

They enable change; they can't impose it...” - Sasha Shulgin

I prefer both and like to dose late at night so I'm still high when our sun rises. I'm a huge advocate for the DMT sunrise.

So many decent responses, I'm not sure if I can add more, but I can try.
1. I try to decide myself whether I want a night trip or day trip. A night trip has the obvious case of not sleeping that night, but has a great view with how the bright lights contrast the world, and moving lights and the such. However, being so energetic, I love to trip during the day and ride my board around my small town, as few things give me bad trips. For me, it's a trip-by-trip basis.
2. Complete darkness gives you a "hallucinogen only" vision, which is very cool, but also annoying at some point. With LSD, I get too energetic to stay there the whole peak, as opposed to the typical super heavy shroom dose with darkness, which I can at least lay down during the whole peak.
3.On my strongest acid trip ever, I spent most of my time swinging like a child in a children's playground Halloween night. I felt like a brand new child, and the swings were especially exhilarating. I'd see fractals with the stars as I went up, and feel a great rush when you come back down. I highly suggest you try this some time.
This telling about my Halloween is making me want to make another trip report, was one hell of a night....
