casing a cake q
    #19125291 - 11/12/13 07:48 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Ok so ive read the dunk and roll tek. would casing my cakes with a mixture of cocopeat and verm be wise? I know the verm is only there for moisture but in theory wouldnt adding a nutritious layer be benefitial to growth??

A casing should be non-nutritious.  Cakes have all the nutes they need.
Dunk and roll in verm to help with humidity.

i dunno tho. I hear a layer of 50/50 coco coir and verm is nice because the verm can be loose and the coco will fill the spots between verm.
plus how can there be too much nutrients?

A very important pinning trigger is 100% consolidation.

Adding a nute casing makes it no longer 100% it makes your block/mono sub bigger.

If u gonna case the cake, use peat instead of coir amd mix 50/50 with verm...

Coir is used for bulk grow so prob contains some nutrition...
