Question on pf gtg

I was wondering about what the best way to cook up a batch of jars for a brf to brf gtg. I'm not sure if I should just put less in my jars for room to shake or what. And it would be amazing if someone could help me out with the whole sterilization portion of it. This is my first time making my own jars and all I have is a pot. I hear it should be fine but I was wondering about if I have to put microspore tape over the holes (or even make holes in the first place since gtg. Please help, thank you.

Are you talking about BRF cakes to G2G...? BRF cakes to BRF cakes? Your question is kinda confusing.

Won't work, at least not in a practical way. Make and fruit your cakes, then make some clean spore prints, then make more jars or, PC some grains once you can.

Any other way to move on with a fully colonized jar. My cakes are pretty much spent and all other shrooms are dry. So can't get a print. Why won't it work? And can I lc or something

You could POSSIBLY do something with agar, but if they're "pretty much spent", I'd say to at least get a couple crappy fruits to make prints from.

I don't understand why g2g wouldn't work though. I have already done it once and it's almost fully colonized but why do you say no?

If you wanna bust up some spent cakes, then try putting them in PC'd grains inside a SAB or LFH, then try it, and I'll watch your results, but I'm assuming you're fairly new, so you don't have samples or prints to keep your grow going, and aren't doing agar.
I stand by saying you should try for one more fruit, and get some prints.

You can't shake brf so pouring it into another jar without using something to break it up first is next to impossible. You could sterilize a spoon or something to assist with it, but you would be risking some serious contam vectors. If you want to expand mycelium in this manner, get a pc, and start with grains. There is a reason its the standard.
Not saying something like this cannot be done, fact is that it has. But it has such a low success rate that no one is going to recommend it. It definitely will not work with spent cakes which are covered in contams by this point and far past the colonization stage anyway. Sorry.

What do ya want a gold star
If everyone gave yes, no, and are you retarded as the default answer to everyone's question, there would be nothing to search for that wasn't yes, no, and are you retarded Some people are here to learn. Maybe there should be another forum called "Don't want to learn shit, just here for the drugs"
Fuck it, I'm tired and cranky and I gotta work tomorrow. Rest assured I will not be providing anymore complete answers for the rest of the night.

I'm sorry for being a noob. But what u don't understand is I have already done this once I took a fully colonized jars and moved a piece to another uncolonized jar and it's at 90% colonization. I guess I can fruit that one instead of making it a master jar. And just get prints. I didn't shake that jar by the way. It didn't colonize very fast maybe 3 weeks at room temperature to 100%

This was BRF TK? and you g2g'd it to a BRF jar already? If you did it once, you can try to do it again, but the general consensus is that it's more trouble than it's worth.
I personally started this hobby with dried shake from a bag, and realize that it was one in a million to happen, and I practice proper procedure every step of the way now. Don't count on Divine Intervention.

Here's my last response for the night. OP there is nothing wrong with being a noob. I'm still a noob in many respects, I have yet to cultivate many species and I have not tried all things. If the cake in the jar in question has not been birthed then in theory you could transfer a piece to another jar. It has been done successfully before.
The problem is that you introduce a lot of contam vectors when doing this, even if done in a SAB or in front of a flowhood. Having to make contact with a tool, even a sterilized one with uncolonized sterile media runs a massive risk for contam. For every person who has pulled this off, there are hundreds that have not. If you did it once and got lucky, your best bet would be to fruit it, make prints, and start new jars, as Ogre suggested.
No matter what you do good luck, I hope it works out for ya
Good night.
