North Florida ID Request

Habitat: I found a large cluster underneath an oak tree in a Tallahassee park. It hasn't rained in a while and we've had some dry weather lately with highs of 75 and lows of 50-55.
Gills: The gills are attached and are a dark brown/reddish color.
Stem: From an inch to five inches. Hollow and grey in some mushrooms just because they're so old, but a few of the mushrooms in the middle of the cluster have white, soft stems that don't bruise.
Cap: Dookie brown cap up to 2.5 inches in diameter.
Spore print color: These mushrooms are so old I doubt I could make a spore print.
Other information: The mushrooms smelled somewhat foul. I'm not sure if it's because of what the mushrooms grew out of, if it's the way this variety of mushroom smells, or if it's the fact that these mushrooms are way past their prime. They are so old that even if I deemed them to be of the edible type, I still would have thrown them away for fear of food poisoning. I'm under the impression that they sprouted at least a month or so ago and have just been moderately well preserved from the few cold fronts we've had.
I'll post some pictures from my phone in a moment.

I was thinking that it was a potential gymnopilus sp. but it could be something ridiculously toxic as well. I've never seen any like this.
