While KSSS is IME a rather distinct looking variety, no one is going to be able to say with certainty which is which. Could be that the luck of the genetic lottery caused your B+ to grow squat and fatass and your KSSS to be very typical in appearance. Though the first 2 pics do resemble most of the KSSS fatass bastards I have grown.

So is the typical looking ksss what you see in the first 2 pics? And from everyone's experience in the last picture does the fruit towards the bottom look like what b+ is suppose to more than the fruit in the top of that pic?

They look like the ones I've grown too. Shhh, don't let anyone hear us talking about strain and how it don't matter/exist.

Yeah, the one on the right looks more like just random genetics that resulted in short fatties.
The 2 on the left look like REALLY short REALLY fat that myself and my buddy have seen with KSSS. All my and buddy's KSSS have look like that using different cultures on different substrates. I've done 4 different grows from 4 different cultures and my buddy has done 6 from 6 different syringes.
I'm colonizing grain from a 5th culture now.
The one on the right looks distinguished from the other 2.

AA+ APE PE are all mutant lineage but maybe not all mutant lineages have to be dealing with pigmentation?
What's going on here.

Yeah. I have a hard time accepting pigmentation is the only mutant traits. Especially when people have had similar results with KSSS

All things being said, I have grown ms KSSS that looked pretty normal;

And some that don't;

All these came from the same ms culture, which is why people say a cube is a cube. Some have tendencies (if they didn't the free spore print thread would not be so popular) but they all have the same potential to look normal, too be mutants, to grow big or small, to colonize fast, to have good yield, etc, etc. Isolation and cloning are the keys to produce what you want.

I agree with that too. That's why I haven't given up on it yet.
But, I'm starting to think that KSSS has a higher propensity to grow short and fat. Or, at least it has done so more often than other "races", at least from what I've seen.
I honestly don't know enough about genetics to make a good argument. But, I can't ignore experiences.

Thank you everyone. Is this the type of post that should be in the strain thread? If so I apologize. I would hate to think that I am breaking the forum rules on my first post.

Really tho I love the KSSS and any variety that tends to produce mutated or different looking fruits. Adds a bit of distinction to the same ol classic looking cubes. My two faves thus far are KSSS and APE

I love the thick squat little dense ass bastards
