split between two views

Have you ever felt like you had two major outlooks on life, and felt yourself always retreating back to middle ground and not going with one? I could say that there is a balance between them, would it not be for the accompanying feeling of 'getting nowheres' I sometimes feel from this.

The sort of view on life that I am referring to is one that sort of makes up the fundamentals and building blocks of how your going to handle situations in daily life. Like optimism and pessismism, how you approach everything. I feel like I'm split between two extremes like that, but I have a feeling I already know in which direction I'm heading.

Like optimism and pessism, I don't see either as being right or wrong, just one's way of seeing life at that particular time... whether he knows it or not, his philosophy may be leading up to something greater.

However, at the moment, I do find something 'wrong' per se, with dilly-dallying in the middle somewheres when I know I want to explore more of a certain side of me... or something like that.

maybe I'll feel differently in a few hours

either way, I must keep up with my studying for school, the knowledge and credentials will outlast whatever temporary feelings I feel today.

lol

That splintered sense of self is the story of my life.
I consider it more of a fight between the victimization that the external world does to me, and the part of me that is trying to assert myself in it.
