Weird brusing Gymnopilus
    #19120438 - 11/11/13 12:50 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

I apologize for the pictures, all I had on me at the time was my phone.
I will try to get more photo's when I get the chance.

My original thought was G. penetrans but not with green spots. So now I'm lost, any help with this matter is much appreciated.

It's definitively not mold, The color comes insides the flesh not on top of it.

Not mold, but maybe bacteria.

I agree that it's quite possibly bruising though.

Keep an eye out for green pins?

Could probably fuck off with the counterproductive attitude though. I don't beleive I saw anybody insult you.

alright man, that could be bruising. I'm still going to put my money on it being mold under the layers making it look darker.

yup I'm not trying to insult you, I don't know how you thought that I was. I'm just saying what I think the green spots are, I have seen alot of mold in my life, looking just like those and last ones you showed. Besides I could be wrong I didn't say I was right.

I'm not talking to you on that count, but to Mr. Maynard, who seems to have cranky pants.

collecting all of the mushroom during all stages of development is important.

are the stipes really purplish, or is that shadow??
hardwoods??

it'd be cool to see what they looked like as yung'ens.

I wasn't refer to you, YOU are helpful. It don't see how it's counterproductive when I have mention for the 4th time it's not mold!
I was trying to use the second picture set as a reference for the first set of pictures (they are all the same kind of mushroom found at different times), the ones with the odd color change.
I even mention it before I edited the OP, I feel like if people spent the 20 seconds it would've taken to read it they would have known that already. Its really frustrating. I apologize for acting inappropriately.

Not purple, more orange/white/yellow. The pins look orangeish/red. Yes, hardwood chips.
Here is a link to an observation of said mushrooms a week or so ago. And yes, I do realize they are moldy and that mold doesn't look like bruising.

Well; you and I know it's not mold, as will many others of us.

I still think it may be bacteria, or some other microbe which I've seen cause similar blue/greening splotches before, but I think psilocybian bluing is the more likely, to whatever degree.

This has been my comunity for a very long time though. I'm protective

To be fair, that line of text explaining the mold was hidden between two photographs, I didn't notice it the first time either, only the moldy mushroom in the last picture.
Beautiful species whatever it is! :super:
