The Hypholoma is H. capnoides. and yes, #1 is soft wood.  Probably Hemlock.

Oh hmmm... that wasn't my intention.  I just had a couple in there I was having a hard time keying out and didn't harvest those, so had no spore print, and also wanted to show off my Fir Champignon and Galerina.  It certainly wouldn't have been an original idea, either.  lol.

Close, It's actually one of those swamp loggers.

They're a rough looking group.

That just proves you really get out there. If you aren't at least secretly nervous of being followed by probably mythological creatures, you aren't spending enough time in the woods anyway.

Yeah they grow late in the season, but I didn't see very many at all, and they were all small, no signs of any rotten ones or anything.  It doesn't mean the season is ending, though.  Whew.  We are all very aware that we are in late season, without seeing these lol.

Yeah i should have got an annulus shot, but there was an annulus.  I called them G. margintata.  Come to think, you can actually see the annulus just under the margin.  It's a blurry orange area.

More likely Armillaria if you're talking all over logs everywhere, I would guess.  I can't imagine that many Galerina.  Should get some photos.
