"magine that when you die, your soul becomes free of your body. You’re no longer confined by human senses; you can see every frequency of electromagnetic radiation, with vision better than an eagle, & smell better than a dog. You are effectively pure thought & experience, you can travel at the speed of light, but you no longer need to breathe oxygen, eat food, or sleep. How long would you stick around on planet earth before you being looking around to try to find a planets full of intelligent aliens? Would you be game to go into a black hole? I believe although the fear of the unknown would remain the same, eventually your curiosity would get the better of you and you just have to know."

Isn't Joe Rogan just Alan watts with a bit more science on top?
I find Watts a bit more profound in his delivery of his point of view of the mind and humanity. But that's not to say Rogan is bad in any way...
I just think the spiritual part is good to keep as well as acknowledging the science that we are able to somewhat fathom.
Watts said this:
"Imagine going to sleep and never waking up again..."
Now that's a trippy thought, at least if you can remember your best dreams instead of your worst nightmares. Also quite comforting.

Sorry... Have to take pretty much everything I wrote back....
Joe Rogan is a loud mouth and pretty much everything he says can be summed down to "we dont understand the universe.... I certainly dont understand the universe... But at least I can be very loud and in articulate at the same time!"
At least Watts has something to offer.

I didn't watch the video.
I'm already ready to jump into a black hole for the sake of science. I don't need to be pure soul or anything..

alan watts is definitely more on point than rogan, and a lot more articulate and interesting and philosophical. rogan seems like a pretty cool dude, and someone i can relate to so i don't understand why so many people hate him. he's just a dude that figured a little bit out and is trying to share his experiences with people.

Well that was completely opposite of what I take from him hehe... Seems to me the only thing he found out is theres a lot he doesnt understand. Most of what he is saying in that clip is random scientific ramblings he picked up on the internet and relaying on to us without really doing anything with it or coming to any conclusions. Ie. Nothing of what he says is something we couldnt learn for ourselved simply by googling or youtubing.
But hey I guess the only important thing is that someone gets something from him. I'll stick to Watts and a grain of McKenna ;-)
