Hi Guys ,
I am pretty new to this forum and mushroom growing itself. This is my first grow attempt I am using the PF-Tek method to grow my shrooms. I need some help. The Glasses are almost fully colonized but this one has a little bit left to colonize and i am a bit worried because the un colonized area is light lime(ish) color. Can this be some sort of contamination ? All of the mycelium is bright white. only this small patch of substrate is this color. NB I may have used a bit too much brown rice flour. I keep them in a cardboard shoe box, stored in darkness and 75F. I am preety sure this has been posted before and i searched for hours but couldnt find a similar contamination.
Thanks again guys. Have a good one

Contam.
Toss it.
And there is no reason to keep them in darkness, sitting on a shelf @ room temp getting a bit of light is fine.

Green in never a good sign. Take it outside and bury it.

Yes you can.
Potentially contaminate future grows, plus it probably wouldn't have finished colonizing to begin with.... at least not with mycelium.

If you want to save the jar; boil or pc it for an hour before you open it. This will kill the contam and any spores it produced which you DON'T want on you or in your house. Then throw the substrate away. There is no use in trying to save it. Write it off and better luck next time.
