If you want to get a rise out of someone or express your disagreement about something, is it really that hard to put some thought into your post before you spit out a bunch of garbage yourself? That puts you on the same level as the person you are trying to piss off/flame/troll IMO. It makes more sense to me to write out an eloquent post pointing out whatever faults/stupidity you want to point out. That way you still put your opinion out there, and you get to feel nice and smug because you won't be banned or warned for it. And it paints you in a better light by making you come off as someone who isn't immature and can manage their emotions. It IS possible to get your point across without flaming someone if you'd just put some thought into what you say.

I guess I'm just being too optimistic that they might pick up some sort of positive behavior and learn something from a forum that is dedicated to mushrooms and the discussion of mind expanding drugs. Exactly. It would be great if the image of this forum could become something other than a joke. But how do you go about doing that? Things need to be enforced and if you're intelligent enough to know better than to flame, why not hold your tongue or flame without flaming, so to speak. Then all the idiots who are abusing drugs who aren't intelligent enough to grasp that concept would ideally be weeded out at some point by being banned/warned/etc.

I think it's too late for that, to be honest. Christ, I came here originally for info on legitimate grows (although Im a big psychedelic user), but the bullshit just drew me in over time, because there's so little valuable NEW content here. The good stuff is so buried under the crap, its hard to ever take it seriously.
Add to that the renegade moderators having free reign (such as the OP deciding upon something radical, when the WHOLE MOD TEAM manage the Pub), well, its tough to call this place a credible forum
And before anyone points it out, yes Im part of the problem, not the solution. This place brings out the worst in me, and most others it seems

Not sure if that was directed at me or if that was a reply fail, but I try not to flame, I try just to point out what the person does in a way that won't get me warned/banned, but I will admit I sometimes get angry and I have a hard time controlling what I say, but that's not too often...

If you guys get too happy with your ban stick, people will just come back and spam more, IMHO.
I know I am a noob, and I probably have trolled one or two times without really knowing I did it (or maybe I did). But you have to admit, there is a fine line between trolling and saying something funny or witty, sometimes.
Being consistent across all members, new and old, is probably a very important aspect that most forum mods would agree upon. But we all know that some people are like He-Man, and want to have "ALL THE POWER".

If you think about it with that mentality then yeah it is too late. But there is always room for change and improvement. If you value this site and want to see it flourish, why not try to become part of the solution by not adding to the BS that is already here? I can understand getting pissed off at all the stupidity and it bringing out the worst in you. I know that there are plenty of threads that could potentially get me all worked up, and I choose to stay out of them for that very reason. Sometimes you have to use some foresight and not put yourself into situations that you know are going to bring out the worst in you.
And I hardly think that what Shroomism has proposed is radical. If anything, it is what needs to be done and I am fairly certain that the rest of the mods would agree.
