Vegetarianism
    #19117728 - 11/10/13 10:23 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

I tried, but here comes Thanksgiving.

Is there any place where you can buy roadkill meat, or meat from animals that died from natural causes?

At least I sleep at night.

Just go set your own traps in vacant areas and catch the grub yourself.

You can choose to only eat food that would otherwise go to waste. People who do so are called freegans.

I'd recommend getting hunting licence, if you have game to hunt.  if not you could always try to find some local free-range meat.    http://www.eatwild.com/products/montana.html ; If you are still uncertain about the quality of life of the critters you could try contacting whomever your considering and seeing if you could check out how their stock is taken care of.

Just pick your roadkill off the highway when you see it, skin it and freeze it until Thanksgiving. Just make sure there aren't any flies or maggots on it, if it is the meat's spoiled and it's no good. You don't want an animal that died of natural causes, you don't know if it died of cancer or from some bacterial disease or from eating ant poison.

You might want to choose to eat something that doesn't have a brain, such as sea urchin or clams or mussels. I doubt something that lacks a brain can perceive pain or fear like we do. High in nutrients and protein, pretty much liked by almost all people, and much healthier for you than ham or turkey. You can buy like 10lbs and make it as a side dish for everybody, and leave 3lbs for yourself to dine on.

I will be going outside of the traditional turkey meal, and this year I will be making duck confit with prosciutto and sturgeon caviar.

I don't eat meat everday but Vegetarianism... ?

"To me, life without veal stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demi-glace, or even stinky cheese is a life not worth living. Vegetarians are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit, an affront to all I stand for, the pure enjoyment of food. The body, these waterheads imagine, is a temple that should not be polluted by animal protein. It's healthier, they insist, though every vegetarian waiter I've worked with is brought down by any rumor of a cold. Oh, I'll accommodate them, I'll rummage around for something to feed them, for a vegetarian plate', if called on to do so."

I've worked with a butcher and i've worked in a slaughterhouse, the only downpart I see for eating meat right now is how animals are kept and at such a vast rate being slaughtered without people being grateful.

My initial fear was we do this to pigs, horses, cows, someday a higher (on the food chain) species will do this to us. Damn foodchain

Amoebas are transferred most easily through the handling of raw, uncooked vegetables, particularly during the washing of salad greens and leafy produce. So think about that next time you want to exchange deep tongue kisses with a vegetarian.
:trollhide:

I hope I can enjoy seafood untill the day I die.
