Hello everyone. I am in need of help. I have recently inoculated 24 jars, using pf tek. Lost 2 to contam, birthed the first 16 that were fully colonized, and now i have 6 remaining jars, peshawaiian that are fully colonized and consolidated. I have a large terrarium with my cakes just starting to pin. AS this is a learning experience i would like to take a stab at making some sort of casing or tray. My question is what is the best way to spawn 6 half pint brf cakes. I have a good size tub if a monotub is the right choice. i also have a large area in my terrarium not being used which would fit some sort of tray. I can post pictures if needed and money isnt an issue if i need to invest in some resources. Im looking to learn about casing and bulk substrate so that my second grow can be much improved. All advise and links will be much appreciated.

Let's grow mushrooms
If you're interested in moving away from the PF tek there's grain/bulk info at the above link and more detailed info below *You can use shredded cakes instead of grains to do your first bulk experiment*
How frank gets shit done This is franks post with links to his teks. Frank is one of our Trusted Cultivators. If you use the advance search engine you can click a box for trusted cultivators. This will give you replies to the question you had(that's already been asked 100s of times) by people that know their shit. Please do this before posting any question you have
Tips and tricksLot's of good stuff in here.
Preparing grain spawn What to do with that spawn? Coir prep Tek
If you plan on asking about lighting in the future NotAHacker will probably copy and paste this to you so here's it in advance Lighting requirements of mushrooms
Good things to know are there's a box for "trusted cultivators" in the advanced search engine when you click on search posts. This gives you replies by only people with the TC tag.
Good current members to listen to are NotAHacker420 and Frank(from the above links) They're around a lot and their advice is solid.
All you need is a PC(necessary to steralize grain spawn) A SAB(still air box) to do sterile work and inoculation You can properly pasteurize in a your PC or any big enough pot. pasteurization is easier than it looks You can spawn grains to your coir+Verm mix in a tray or a monotub etc..
hope that helps.

If money is not an issue than do it like a pro.
As for the casing cakes question. You can and I have crumbled PF cakes and cased with just verm. This gave a very decent pinset. I used a shotgun FC tho, i would at least upgrade from the terrarium for a start. Good luck and read up

If you have material to go bulk then by all means. Just make sure to leave room for the grain in the pan(I kno stupid but simple) and case after the bulk sub is fully colonized on the surface, and let the casing colonize a bit before fruiting. At least this is my understanding. Hope it helps
