How to enable captchas on TOR browser?
    #19117570 - 11/10/13 09:59 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

How can this be done, and if it is done, does it compromise the anonymity provided by TOR?

To do this, you will need to temporarily disable NoScript which will allow Captchas to be used. I'm guessing you are using this on a clearnet (non .onion) site? Most .onion/tor sites will allow Captchas without having to disable NoScript.

Does it compromise your anonymity? Yes and no; It won't reveal your IP address, but it allows other information (time and date, user agent, etc...) to be displayed which can be used to help identify you. If at all possible, don't disable.

If you have to disable, I'd close down Tor+Vidalia, and restart, then use a single session simply for whatever it is that needs NoScript disabled. Then when you have finished what ever you're doing, close Tor+Vidalia, and start another session.

IF YOU DO DISABLE NoScript, MAKE SURE YOU ENABLE IT AGAIN RIGHT AFTER YOU ARE DONE WITH WHAT EVER YOU ARE DOING.

I'm having a problem getting captcha's to work on android, always says they are wrong or that too long was taken to enter the data. Im using orbot with orweb. Is there a work around for this?
