I think us Atlanta and surrounding vicinity should get together and do some hunts maybe up here in the suburbs of Cobb and Cherokee...

Hey again people,
I finally made the move from Memphis to Athens just after finding some fantastic cubensis fields. I hardly know anything about weilii though, are they more prolific here than cubensis?? I was really impressed with the pics LK, those are some serious hauls. Anyways, it's been raining here as well so good luck people!

well, the climate for cubes hasn't really been present lately.. but about the weilii's,  it seems that when you find one weilii you find a nice little patch near it :smile:

i live about seventy miles north of atlanta on i-75 does weilli grow in my area? if so what are the best kinds of places to look

i'm not sure if they go that far north, it wouldn't hurt to look. Weilii's like a place of new development usually, such as a place that put down grass around 7-10 years go (as apposed to a field thats been around for 100). They like fescue grass. I've found some around office parks/buildings where they have all their nicely trimmed grass, you can usually just walk on the side walk with an open backpack and walk down the sidewalks tossin' em in your book bag.

well, i looked in about 4 places where i have found weilii before, and found nothing.. I didn't even see a mushroom let alone the one i was looking for. Maybe better climate next time..

Well it rained like crazy in north ga, and I looked all around my local college campus, not a single fungi to be found!!.. :frown:.. Maybe better luck next time eh?
