How is Rome total war 2??

I've been waiting for it to come out, now I realize it has been out since September
But my torrent program refuses to work ATM. And it is really upsetting me.
So in the meantime can someone describe it to me? maybe someone who loved rome total war one as intimately as I did?

You should play chess instead. You command an army and everything, and its a much better game that is played by better people.

It's pretty much exactly the same as the first one. I've barely played it past the prologue because it feels exactly the same.. Maybe if I were to sit here and compare them side by side I'd see the differences, but I spent a lot of time on the first one and then didn't touch it for like 6 months before the second one came out and then started on the second. Seems the same to me from that perspective.

Kind of pissed I am just now finding this out. I thought Shogun 2 was amazing. Even if Rome 2 is basically the same thing with new looks, it will kick ass!

dude, I looked at the minimum requirements for both games side by side. Rome 2 seems like it should be a powerhouse of vastly improved graphics.
I even read there are now facial animations?
Or were you talking strictly of gameplay?

I was speaking of gameplay, of course the graphics got a major overhaul.. Unfortunately I can't really run it at high because my GPU is on it's way out.

ah, the word feel said interface to me for some reason.
But obviously gameplay is the most important aspect. I read that they tried to make the cultures other than rome a lot more in depth and factual. I was hoping this amounted to different play styles between factions? Or at least specialized units and whatnot

Rome total war is one of my favorite games ever, however Rome total war 2 apparently has ALOT of gameplay issues. I haven't played it personally because I can't run it but I've read a bunch of reviews.
A lot of people are saying it's the worst Total War yet..

There are a lot of factions, I don't remember Rome I having so many.. Even just blinking the faction icon uptop for a second, it takes FOREVER to get them through them all <_<..
I haven't tried playing with any of the different factions and haven't played too much into it like I said, so game play beyond the beginning may end up playing out differently.
Every faction has it's own positives and negatives from what I saw. I didn't see anything about specialized units though..
I plan to put more time into it at some point, but I'm kinda Rome'd out at the moment. I've been waiting for Rome 2, and figured it would be like a new game and was pretty disappointed in it

damn really?
I read such a positive review just now. I really just have to play it for myself it looks like.
Fucking torrent program is still being totally unreasonable. I might have to re-install it.
