PHARR — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered more than $45 million worth of cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine Saturday concealed in a shipment of tomatoes in a tractor-trailer driving across the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge.
No arrest was made, but U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations continues to investigate.
Saturday afternoon, the red-and-white tractor-trailer crossed the bridge, where a CBP officer referred it for a more thorough inspection, according to a news release from a CBP spokesman.
The release was unspecific about how inspectors found the drugs, but stated they used “all available tools and resources,” to locate the almost 500 packages of narcotics.
They found almost 1,100 pounds of cocaine, with an estimated street value of about $35 million; almost 300 pounds of heroin, valued at $9.4 million; and almost 29 pounds of methamphetamine, valued at more than $900,000.
CBP seized the narcotics, the tractor-trailer and the tomatoes.

It is possible that the driver was entirely ignorant of what he was hauling, they pick up trailers loaded, locked, and sealed everyday.
-------------------- Rocks speak to me, and tell me this: The Hell Creek formation is a gigantic slab of rocks that covers several western states. It contains an account of the dinosaurs' demise. In the late Cretaceous period, the first Cannabis species appear, and soon after, all the non-bird dinosaurs disappeared. Obviously, marihuana killed the dinosaurs. That giant meteor that smacked the yucatan peninsula right afterwards, coincidence.
