Some porn for your Sunday morning/afternoon

Hey guys, at it again. I had my doubts about this one, because my substrate was very wet. It seemed to even itself out and things are going strong!

Check out that deep blue!

Nice pinset man! just curious, did you use a trashbag liner? I never used one and I always got huge amounts of side pins. I still got a 3 ounce first flush but it drives me crazy!

OP's sub looks pretty shallow, probably won't be hard to get at the side pins at that depth.
Looking good OP

Yeah, I usually don't have a problem getting the side pins. The substrate isn't all that shallow, there is just a large amount of headroom because of how tall the monotub is. All this headroom is making for poor FAE, my holes are also a little small. So I have been fanning and misting a little extra, gotta take care of those fuzzy feet!

I always thought one was supposed to gently twist at the base of a mushroom and pull upwards when harvesting. Lately I have seen lots of posts and logs showing where they were cut. Is cutting vs twisting more of an opinion or what? Thanks.

It's better to cut at the base, because often when you pull the mushrooms, it takes out a chunk of the substrate, leaving it more open to contamination and less area for another pin set.

Plus cutting looks so much neater, and you don't have to clean any substrate off
My depth is just over 3"

There is a massive thread on this very topic which is active so I would refer you to that. Personally I think cutting close to the base has advantages and no disadvantages whereas pulling has several disadvantages. Others seem to disagree however
