Hi there hunters, first timer here. I live on the Oregon coast and have just taken an interest in hunting actives. Been an active user for awhile, now looking for some DIY experience. These are some dune mushrooms I found yesterday while seeking cyans and azures on a driftwood and dune grass covered beaches. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm have problems uploading pics so ill do my best to describe them. They are a caramelly brown with similarly colored stems, the gills are attached to the stem. And I found them growing on and through some deciduous drift wood. In the chips bark and dust. Please feel free to ask any questions, but do take in to consideration I am lacking in terminology and the like, so simple is better for the time being

I'm thinking gym species. Not sure. Videos make it difficult. A still photo would be better. Wait for a TI to chime in though. Welcome to the shroomery!
You should post ID requests in this format.
Habitat: Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.
Gills: Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.
Stem: Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.
Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
Spore print color: Very important!
Bruising: Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.
Other information: Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

Also you said you were having trouble uploading pics. Maybe this will help. I'm not sure what kind of problems your having uploading but hopefully this helps.

Still unable to post pics, its saying that the file type is not allowed, but they're jpg. I'm taking a spore print now and will re post my description properly in a few. Thanks again for the help, what is a gym? Active or edible?

There are both active and inactive species.

No species of Gymnopilus are poisonous that I know of. There are maybe a dozen Gymnopilus species that are active but many more Gymnopilus species are inactive.
None are really any good as edibles, unless you like how bike tires taste.
This is what I have gleaned so far about the gymnopilus species. I am REALLY new to mushroom hunting and identifying. Like I said wait for a TI or Trusted Identifier to chime in. What problems are you having uploading? Just that it's not a supported file type?

Those don't look like cyanescens dude. Batteries dying? That may be your problem. Uploading from a smartphone? I noticed the .mp4 video. Download the pics to your home comp then try uploading them.

The ones in your most recent .mp4 file are not cyans. They look like they might be Marasmius oreades to me, but I don't know. Maybe someone more qualified will give you a better idea soon...
