It's been 4 weeks, 3 days.. at a fairly consistent 72 deg. I THINK I'm doing fine with about half of these and the other half are in question. But I need your expertise. I hear varying opinions with regards to metabolites being present and still going forward with the fruiting stage. So, jar for jar.... what are the keepers ( if any), the " watchers", and the definite " tossers"?

looks way to wet, a pic of your lid would help also.
and those are the wrong size jars.
looks like metabolites from a bacterial contam that is getting ready to set in from to much moisture
what are you using for GE

Toss them all. Get wide-mouth half-pint jars. Do what the tek says.

By the time you buy the right jars inoculate them and grow them the full pint jars will still be colonizing if they don't go bacterial by then.

They could all be fine. I hate when people just tell someone to throw away their work just because part of it doesn't fit the spec.
SOME people make the tall jars work. He should definitely start a new grow to be safe but there is no reason to toss these before he even finds out if they will finish colonizing.
Also, a little bit of metabolites are nothing to worry about. Just keep an eye on it.

If anything, I believe you can bury them outside, even in winter perhaps.
But in a warmer climate, prepare just like a mono put spawn, layer of sub, mix, and cover...
And something should come of it...
At atleast you may get some pins...
I would not throw them away, but that is just me.

Yeah I agree, no reason to be hasty and toss it all!
I agree that spawning it to bulk may be best, just use less sub so it colonizes faster. The fresh air and dryer substrate may do the mycelium good.

these are half pints... so apparently the style I have isn't the proper type. What should I look for if I go ahead and continue to the fruiting stage?

Oh, how I wished I had the heart of the optimist.
I just know I hate dealing with really nasty jars and I think those are going to get nastier.
Sure, there's nothing wrong with hanging on to them and see what happens. I've been wrong before.
Seeing that much metabolites before 100% colonization has never worked out for me.
Just my opinion.

So when there's that type of metabolites present, what is to be expected if I WERE to go forward to the fruiting stage? And with most eluding to too much wetness, do you think more than likely I over inoculated the jars?

Based on my experience, I would expect it to continue to grow contaminants. I would not want to put a contamed cake in my SGFC. If I did, then I would want to clean my perlite very well after I tossed the cakes.
If you choose to continue on and see what happens, give them a smell test once you open them. You may be able to get a little whiff now, without opening the jar. If it smells like anything other than mushrooms, toss it for sure. If it smells okay and just has metabolites, it's your choice whether to fruit them or not. Opinions vary.
