I prefer good weed, it has a better high and it taste better IMO.
Why not just take a toke if you get too high smoking a lot of it?

Yes, weed can be too strong. Just like a person can be too rich, or too beautiful.

I personally like the strongest of the strong. Although some strains do have a certain feel to them, almost anxious but not anxiety. This Sour Diesel I'm smoking today does that. I think it is because of the sativa genetics involved.
Here its pretty much, good, very good or extremely good. I've never come across bad weed or "schwag" as you guys like to call it. That cheap brick weed or whatever, I've never seen that. I don't really know a lot about weed, but what I do know is that Canada has some amazing shit for some reason...
I can't deal with the extremely good stuff. Its ridiculously strong and just makes me feel too high for my own comfort. The worse thing is, I'm pretty sure my guy could manage to find something even stronger...

No such thing as too strong.
All that means is you have to smoke less to get to the same point.
IIRC the most potent weed back in the 1930s was something like 25% THC, using old fashioned techniques. The absolute best we have done with all our newfangled techniques and technology and hybridization advances is like ~%35-40 IIRC. Still, most top shelf shit hovers around 25-30%. Concentrates you can up to 70-90%. However concentrates have existed for thousands of years as well.
So all that bullshit about weed being "10x more potent today than 100 years ago" is just that... total bullshit. We are just better at consistently making it higher potency. But I guarantee there was some hash back in 1900 that would have knocked you on your ass just as hard.
So no.... no such thing as "too strong/potent", when it comes to cannabis - THC/CBDs. That's like saying is there such a thing as being too efficient, or being too cool

Noooo... Don't worry OP, once weed is legal everywhere, you'll be wishing weed was as potent as it used to be.

I agree. They've been growing high grade dank and making concentrates in places like India, Nepal, and Afghanistan since WAY back when. To say that todays average American weed is much stronger than yesterday's average American weed would be more accurate. But that's just because it used to be either people who had no education in proper growing techniques, or people who just didn't give a shit growing 95 percent of it.

The more I get the longer it seems to last me… obviously. But I mean gram for gram it takes me longer to go through.
And OP I don't think that there's such a thing as too potent And smoking more potent bud seems healthier, since you need to smoke less. Less smoke intake is always nice.

My take on this is no, actual buds aren't too strong. I keep a low tolerance so when I know I'm smoking something strong I keep it to one good hit and it gets me perfect. The day when even one hit gets me too high, thats when i'd say weed is too strong.
I feel like a lot of people treat weed dosage differently than they would any other drug. Like in op's case, smoking that second hit you doubled the dose, even after your first hit got you good. If you took a dose of shrooms/H/coke etc that got you pretty high would you immediately double up on it? No because you'd know you'd get too high (or you would do it out of impulse and then realize afterwards that you over did it).
On the other hand, I think all the concentrates that are very popular now adays (BHO, shatter etc) are a little on the 'cracky' side for weed. With strong weed being 20-30% thc and these concentrates going up towards 70% thc, you are (imo) bound to be extra fried out (in a bad way) if you mess with the concentrates. not to mention that it will destroy your tolerence. i know many people enjoy concentrates so i'm not tryin to judge or step on toes, just giving my 2c .

There's so much talk on this subject but to me weed isn't like alcohol or other drugs where 'potency' is easily measured. Indica/sativa, how mature the plant was when harvested. There's a lot of shit in weed that makes weed weed. Not just THC. So many people seem to know so much about it. Some of the discussions are amazing. But anyway, the best weed for me gets me really fucking stoned spaced out as shit but not anxious. Other weed gets me pretty stoned but really fucking anxious. If the strain provokes a high anxiety, to me, that's not what I consider premium. That's just like shitty coffee or whatever.
