I went to a clearcut area to search for conifer psilocybes today. I didnt find any but i did see a ton of other cool fungi and lots of suspect gyms/pholiota and cortinarius.
there are samples for each group and lots of spore prints started on white paper and foil. I will post pictures of the prints tommorow.
Group 1-3 may be the same species but were found in different groups seperated from eachother, and each look slightly different. So i kept them all seperated.
Group 1:

Group 2:

Group 3:

Group 4: some type of red gill cortinarius, very cool colors

Heres a couple cool Laccaria fairy rings, they were all over the place growing in circles. Lots of other fungi fun around aswell. Lots of unknowns to me.

Thanks for looking ill have prints up tommorow any thoughts?

OK group one.. they are mostly all slightly umbonate with a bump in the middle, caps are dark redish brown after picking, they got alot darker since picked. gills orange, growing on clearcut wood debri, spore print not done looks brown/orange, any specific details your looking for?
Im starting to think they are all cortinarius species.

Directly from wood; I sure as heck think Gymnopilus.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

all groups were growing directly off wood accept the laccaria and group 3. Group 3 was growing off a shady area with moss and alot of wood debri but i didnt check if it was growing right off the wood, it probably was.

I have found the mushroom in first 3 groups in 4 out of 5 clearcuts in my area ive checked lately. Also found some in a yard today. they seem really common around here. Im pretty sure they are not gymnopilus and are cortinarius maybe Cortinarus cinnamomeus , any thoughts on this ID?
