SWIM is preparing SP and read on erowid that near the end(3-4 hours) the mix should be "sticky" or "like snot"..SWIM has been preparing the mix for almost 3 hours and the mix is not sticky at all.. Is this normal?

It's not always all that snotty. Kinda depends on the cactus from my experience. Some are real snotty and some aren't. I usually brew mine much longer than that though unless I'm using a pressure cooker. What brewing method are you using?

Chopped the stars to smaller bits and then blended it. Placed the mix into a pot and then heated it with an electric stove for 4 hours!
By the way do you know what SWIM should expect after drinking the mix? SWIMS read vomiting and nausea for about 3 hours and then everything should be good. Does this sound accurate?

This thread was moved from The Ethnobotanical Garden.
Reason: Questions about consumption are better suited in the Psychedelic Experience forum. The Ethnobotanical Garden is more focused on the cultivation and propagation of plants.

How sticky it is all depends on how much tea you want to consume. I first boil mine for 4 hours. 1 hour on high, 1 hour on medium then I filter it, then I reboil the pulp in new water for 2 more hours on low.
On the last two hours, I get my filtrate and start boiling it down to a serving size in a separate pot. I start on low and get higher as the liquid loses volume. At the end of those two hours, I filter the second extraction and add it to the second pot. At this point it's green and watery.
Over 2 - 4 hours I will slowly boil the fluid down to a browny-green liquid, then to a dark brown goopy substance. How snotty is it all depends on how much you're willing to drink. The more concentrated the tea, the more snotty.
It makes no difference to the dosage. The less concentrated tea will probably take longer to kick in and will make you more sick, based on the fact that you're consuming more shit.
