Help me understand BTC?

I've been meaning to go buy about $100 in BTC, but after creating a MtGox account, I realized you need a bank account linked in order to purchase them.
Is there any service that will allow me to purchase BTC WITHOUT linking my personal bank account, rather, anonymously?
Also, how, precisely, do you use PGP encryption on tor? When I see other people using it, it appears they just copy-paste [startencryption] a bunch of gibberish here [endencryption]. I'm guessing that I'm missing the point of it.

Don't use Mt.Gox, they are absolutely terrible for reasons I will not go into but you can easily find online. They require a long time to deposit money, withdraw money, etc... Overall making them slowly.
I suggest checking out Bitstamp (bitstamp.net); HOWEVER I would say fuck dealing with that online shit, and go for in person cash transactions!! Check out localbitcoins.com
WHEREEVER you are storing you're wallet, be safe. Storing it on your computer? BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP; ENCRYPT the storage area where your wallet is, and always keep it safe, but don't lose the password!
Going for an online wallet? I suggest blockchain.info, HOWEVER, lock it down so it only allows connection from your home IP (providing it doesn't change) use a complex password, and use two-factor authentication. Also use a second password that is required to be entered everytime you want to send coins.
GPG4USB, the easiest PGP encryption method out there, and works on windows. It's not that hard to use, and if you can't learn how to use it just by looking at the program, don't even bother with what you're going to do
Oh, and for what you're going to do, tumble the bitcoins to your wallet, and tumble them from your wallet to the website you'll be using This is called "Shared Send" in blockchain.info
Stay safe amigo.

Nope; localbitcoins.com find a local seller, and this will be your go to bitcoin vendor from now on; Cash transactions only
If you are forced to use your bank account, setup two acccounts, one which will be your main and one which will send to the site you're using.
bitstamp--tumble-->main---tumble-->secondary---tumble--->site
If you tumble them you're almost always good but even with a Bank account tumbling them might still be a little sketchy. So go to localbitcoins.com
But remember this, there are bigger fish to try
