Found a nice pasture where i was able to find some lib's ...

i also stumbled over some shrooms which could be some heavy bluing cyans. maybe im just a little overexcited but id like to hear some opinions on them :

they didnt smell rotten at all and all 4 grew from the same spot. they didnt drop much spores but they were dark purple / black ...

Hygrocybe conica. Possibly H. nigrescens. P. cyanescens doesn't grow in grass.

I am curious whether the basidia has 2 or 4 spores each.
I agree with H. conica since this is a European collection. However the literature from Europe differs on how many spores per basidia this species has.ยด

I have seen cyans on grass only near wood chip patches that had cyanescens. After the wood chips are gone sometimes they escape into the grass. And in coastal dune grasses from the Arcata area north.

What about buried wood giving it the appearance that they are growing in grass?

I'm still amazed not to see them thriving directly along riparian zones dominated by maple or alder. They like it alright, but nothing like they like landscaping. I just can't figure why.
--------------------
Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
