watery straw

After pasteurization of straw, how does one "take out" the water that is trapped in the rice straw itself? For too much water can be wring by hand, but how does others do with bulk straw?

They just let it drip to the point where the water doesn't drip? But still water is trapped in the straw and when i squeeze it, drips of water drops and i think it should not be that way?

Not sure about rice straw but with wheat straw I just let it hang for about a hour after taking it outta my 55 gallon pasteurizer. I have a wire basket made that I put the straw in and put that in the water. When its done i have a winch that I raise the straw out with.
Are u assuming its to wet to use or have u tried it?  I don't have to ring out the wheat straw

I only have experience with wheat straw.
I spread it hot on a clean tarp with a clean pitch fork.
By the time it cooled enough to handle the moisture was good.
