You seem to think I view her as a musician. I do not. I view her as an artist that chose the medium that was most fitting to reach her desired audience.

O, and don't get me wrong... I think her music is terrible in the musical sense.

So what is she? Cult figure?

But her music is, definetely, an attempt to move people away from being sheeple and towards appreciation of purer art forms.

She is amongst the most popular artists on youtube. SHEEPLE?

PURE ART FORM?

What do you think of Marcel Duchamp? Malevich's black square?

Artist? A person whose work shows exceptional creative ability or skill:

SEX SEX SEX?

Have you ever heard a rapper not rapping about bitches, niggers or fucking combining jazz, soul and rap? Why doesn't Lady Gaga sing about reality like the last track here (39:06):

?

IMO the only people worth having a voice are honest rappers, there is only one, or two if we include Ronny Jordan, but he's more about instrumentals. There may be artists I am not familiar of obviously. Sure there are a couple of rockers out there as well.

I own all jazzmatazz albums. You probably have a very wrong view of my musical tastes due to my appreaciation of Gaga as an artist.

But what do you think of Duchamp and Malevich?

How's this:

You have a very wrong view of my musical tastes due to my appreaciation of Gaga as an artist.

I never said your music taste was crap, only your view on Lady Gaga.

But what do you think of Duchamp and Malevich?

The one track I heard was boring, post some and I'll check it out.

They are not musicians.

Duchamp put a urinal in a museum to ridicule modern art.

Malevich painted a black square as a supreme act of abstraction.

Do you consider those acts works of art?

They are not musicians.

Well, we are debating musicians here and Lady Gaga is a musician.

Duchamp put a urinal in a museum to ridicule modern art.

I don't care. No actual changes has been made.

Malevich painted a black square as a supreme act of abstraction.

I don't care.

Do you consider those acts works of art?

Art to me is novelty and through this actual changes in the mess we live in.

Jazz Liberatorz sounds great, I will delve into that!

I was asking you about Duchamp and Malevich because I suspect we have a radically different view on what art is.

I am under the impression that you require art to involve a highly developed, unique skillset.

In my opinion, art is about communicatiing ideas. This must be done in the most efficient way for a work of art to be succesful.

I thereby lump all of art together (even music). I'm sure if it were up to artists to chose their own labels (painter, sculptor, musician, designer), most would chose none.

It is about the message, not the medium or the physical representation of that message.

That is why I suspected you would not feel strongly about Duchamp or Malevich. They are doing the exact same thing Gaga is doing, except on different topics.

Duchamp: modern art
Malevich: abstraction
Gaga: pop culture

I'll rest my case now.

On to enjoy good music because that seems to be something we can both find great delight in!

:like:

Love that beeboss funky rhodes! That's fantastic.

I love music that can surprise and be playful or maybe even manic? This is what I look for in classical music as well. Rachmaninoff for instance:

Or this:

First track was listenable but boring. It lacks catchiness. The drumming was decent.

Second track is good. I miss some groovy fundamental though. In the same category as Jazzanova, they usually miss out on that groovy element in their track but definitely worth a listen in a set or mix. The start of 2:17 was pleasurable but then it turned boring.

The Rippingtons, check out Key To The Forbidden city, in particular 1:29, this part has 'the mature drive':

The Rippingtons might be too happy or light for you, I recommend liquid lounge if you're into DARK jazz:

What do you think my approach on art is?

I am under the impression that you require art to involve a highly developed, unique skillset.

Art is novelty to me, just like what everything else should be.

In my opinion, art is about communicatiing ideas. This must be done in the most efficient way for a work of art to be succesful.

How should these ideas be communicated though, through the same ideal every time, like Monroe, Madonna and Gaga?

I thereby lump all of art together (even music). I'm sure if it were up to artists to chose their own labels (painter, sculptor, musician, designer), most would chose none.

Even science is art then? Just like Pat Metheny creates his orchestrion based on 1 + 1.

It is about the message, not the medium or the physical representation of that message.

Everything is physical, even verbal messages. :nono:

That is why I suspected you would not feel strongly about Duchamp or Malevich. They are doing the exact same thing Gaga is doing, except on different topics.

Duchamp: modern art
Malevich: abstraction
Gaga: pop culture

Creating no change, Lady Gaga is making it worse, what do you think?

I'll rest my case now.

I find this enjoyable, please continue challenging my position on music if you want to.

On to enjoy good music because that seems to be something we can both find great delight in!

How's SOULFUL DRUM AND BASS?

Decent but it's too much classical over it, no novelty.

Bossa novelty, follow the flutes:

I am not sure what this is, but it sounds very techno-ish, not good in my opinion. It sounds like the father of 'Sensation White/Black'. Here's my sensation:

It was nice corresponding with you, sleep well:
