Help Identifying

Ok so for the most part I am new to mushroom hunting but I'd like to think I'm learning quickly. Anyhow there happen's to be hundreds of different types of mushrooms on my family's cattle/mountain land. Up to this point these are some of thee only one's I have came across that bruise blue, I have found one's I would swear up & down were cubensis but they don't bruise blue ;/ There is little dark spots forming on the caps as they dry, The spore print is very dark, blackish. Also I am in Oregon if that helps!

Hard to say from the photo, but I think these are Panaeolus foenisecii/cinctulus.
There's alot of active species in Oregon, but Psilocybe cubensis is not one of them. You'll have much better luck looking in landscaped wood chips for Psilocybe cyanescens and such.

They are Panaeolus for sure, take a spore print and take a good picture of it along with some better pictures of the mushrooms.
If the spore print is jet black than your good to go, you say they bruised blue?

If you can capture this blue bruising in a picture that would tell me that they are active.
The spore color will tell us which species it is but I am guessing you can not take a print now that they are dry.
Panaeolina castaneifolia is super rare and has a brown print, more likely to be Panaeolus cinctulus.

They are to dry now to get much of a print but the one I took earlier was black, here they are drying. I can't wait to look for more tomorrow.

im certain they are active, they are the first in this several hundred acre pasture I have found that bruised instantly not blue exactly, but darkish purple/bluish. There was other little, wider brown ones that didn't bruise in the area.

Yes, Psilocybe cyanescens will bruise blue (it's in the name) and have a purplish-brown spore print. It's a common trait among Psilocybes.

It looks like you may have some P. cinctulus mixed in there. Try printing each one and toss the ones without a jet black print.

Probably partially the image quality, lighting, they're old, wrong species maybe. That's why people really push the black spore print on these.

Bad lighting, over exposure, cheap sensor, no image correction. Take your pick. It's a drawback of the limitations of having to use whatever hardware is at hand.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
