Does anyone have any experience inoculating bar oil for chainsaws? What kind of oil did you use? What mushroom did you use to inoculate?

used normal bar & chain oil. Mixed with P. Cyanescens spores and inoculated chain. Allowed to incubate for 2 weeks until put in FC (with other chainsaws)
Use caution, it is believed that this method of cultivation caused the Texas chainsaw massacre

In all seriousness, is there a special procedure for inoculating the oil?

A gallon of mineral oil, a drill, a bucket, a paint mixer, spores. Make smaller batches with a kitchen mixer. This is not innocculation, this is a spore suspension. inoculation will occur when you saw some wood. That was funny as hell, gman. . . I really think the oil will coat the spore walls and prevent germination.

I can't imaging this procedure working, despite reading about it in Paul's book. The chain oil compartment on chain saws gets up to pasteurization temperature due to heat from the engine. Then, it's fed to the chain and bar where the friction against the wood being cut causes enormous amounts of heat. RR

Obviously, what RR said. Cool concept anyway.
-------------------- Rocks speak to me, and tell me this: The Hell Creek formation is a gigantic slab of rocks that covers several western states. It contains an account of the dinosaurs' demise. In the late Cretaceous period, the first Cannabis species appear, and soon after, all the non-bird dinosaurs disappeared. Obviously, marihuana killed the dinosaurs. That giant meteor that smacked the yucatan peninsula right afterwards, coincidence.

Thanks for the responses. Definitely a cool concept, maybe I'll give it an experiment.
