I mean it's not like they're the most comfortable headphones out there, but they get the job done. Glad you like them!

Worn them for an extended period yet?
Glad to hear you really enjoy em though. Good buy

Not longer than an hour, but so far I'm fine. I literally just opened the box about 2 hours ago.
One question I have: how should I choose my EQs? Just try it flat or try to create my own that I like?

If you're happy with the sound, just go for it flat. Otherwise have a play around; and maybe take a look at the frequency response if you're curious.
I was always pretty happy with mine (my HE-400s were way too bright, on the other hand, and needed significant EQ to be enjoyable for many tracks).

Tinnitus FTW! No, but seriously, it's all fun and games until you get that constant ringing in your ears. I've been living with it for about 4 years now, lesson learned. It's not severe, but it's definitely there.

Excellent news, OP. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your new headphones. The sound only gets better with time, me thinks.
I've had my Sennheiser HD555s for a few years now and I absolutely love them. This might sound a bit strange, but I think they've actually trained my ears to listen to music properly, I can hear so much more detail on albums. It could be that I'm using an amp now (I didn't for the first few years I had them), but I don't go any louder than about half the volume capacity now.

You can buy $20 knock offs online. I wouldn't give my money to buy real Beats anyways, so what is the harm.

The rule with EQ settings is that less is more. If you want a little more or less of something, give it a nudge.

It's usually better to cut a frequency than to boost it's opposite.

Honestly mate at that price point just get the beyer DT-770s and be done with it. You will never look back I promise. No other phone will compete for the price. You will have to spend well over 200 if you want something that sounds better. If you want to do further research yourself, you can't really go wrong with the following brands.
Sennheiser AKG Beyerdynamic Ultrasone Audio-Technica Denon Sony
I would avoid any brands that aren't listed above if I were you.
FWIW though, sound quality is subjective and your best bet is to try as many different cans as possible. That will ultimatley lead to the best decision for you.

He already purchased his headphones. He went with the Audio-Technicas and is very happy with them.

I seem to have a habbit of offering advice once its too late.
The M50s are great phones though. Bit cheaper than the 770s too. You might find the money would have been wasted on the 770s, or maybe not. You will never know. You could always place an order for a pair. Then once they turn up, try them out and see if you can justify the extra price for them. If not, return them. If you find they are miles better, return the AT's. Just my 2p.

Got a pair of these recently. They are very good if you are producing music. They have very good low-end and are all round good headphones.
