greyish white patch on colonized cake - contam???
    #19106869 - 11/08/13 05:34 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Hi all, another contamination question.
One of my cakes seems to be fully colonized, but theres a greyish-white patch that different from the bright white mycelium on the rest of the cake. Here's a video that doesn't show it very well, but I tried my best. Any ideas?

Edit: For clarification, the greyish patch is about 3 seconds in, and you can see that the verm layer on that side was disturbed

Kinda just looks like verm got pushed to the side of the jar to me. Can't really tell from the video tho. Has it consolidated for a full week? If so, birth that sucka by itself somewhere and give it a good sniff. If it smells like annyyyything other then fresh mushrooms, I'd personally toss it.
Hope everything turns out for ya man. Nothing worst then gettin gross smelly contam.
